Hopi bracelet with a beautiful Ithaca Peak turquoise (Arizona) set in sterling silver.
 

The Ithaca Peak turquoise is one of the most iconic, collectible and beautiful turquoise of Arizona, known for its beautiful lagoon-like background (with amazing shades of blue) and its brown/black matrix.

This stone is framed by traditional Hopi designs, representing rain clouds (symbol of good omen) and thunderbolt coming out of it. These designs and the bracelet in its whole are made with the overlay technique: 

This process includes a background soldered to another like-sized piece with a cutout design. The silver background is then oxidized and scratched to bring out contrast between the two pieces.
