This handmade pottery is representative of the contemporary style created by the Navajo, called "etched pottery".

The potters who make this craft make potteries of various sizes, then paint them with beautiful colors (usually gradations of complementary tones). These pieces are then hand-engraved with natural or geometric designs. 

Admire the distinctive shape of this pottery: its wide and flat form creates a veritable spiral of various colors. The stunning tones chosen by the artist make it an exceptional decorative piece. Each color takes on its full meaning in this palette of nuances reminiscent of natural elements: forest greens, red and sand soil, turquoise to midnight blues...

The patterns created by the artist include eagle feathers, emblematic of Native culture, and designs reminiscent of mountain shapes. She has also put her signature into a lovely canyon landscape, the very symbol of the American Western desert.
