The Zapotec Indians of the Oaxaca region (Mexico), known as the "People of the Clouds", raise their sheep, harvest the wool, spin it and weave it in accordance with a tradition dating back to 500 BC. The dyes used on these beautiful rugs are essentially natural dyes derived from plants, minerals or insects.

These 100% wool carpets are made entirely on old treadle looms, and depending on their size, require weeks or even months of weaving.

Each rug is unique, with designs ranging from traditional to contemporary.
