One of a Kind piece - High-end Navajo jewelry

Stunning Squash Blossom necklace with thirty-seven high grade Number 8 turquoises (Nevada) set in sterling silver, handcraft by renowned Navajo artist Derrick Gordon.

This necklace is absolutely incredible, the kind of piece you only come across once in a lifetime.

Admire the dozens of turquoises that make this exceptional piece of jewelry: Number 8 turquoise is a stone as beautiful as it is prized (its mine is now closed), known for its pastel blue that only nature can create, on which intense dark-toned matrices stand out.

Each bead of this necklace is hand-crafted: the artist forms half-spheres which are then soldered together to create round beads. The turquoise settings open into silver tubes whose opening is reminiscent of squash blossom (squash is an essential Native crop). The artist has oxidized and brushed all these elements to give a darker hue to the silver, which enhances the beautiful shades of blue of the Number 8 turquoise.

The Naja, also set entirely in turquoises, is an imposing central pendant. Shaped like a horseshoe, it brings protection to the wearer.

More than just a necklace, the Squash Blossom is the most emblematic jewel of the Southwest Natives and their jewelry-making expertise. It is highly prized by the various tribes who make it. It has always been, and still is today, worn by both men and women for ceremonies and celebrations.
