Sterling silver Navajo pendant.
 

This pendant represents the profile of a buffalo. The buffalo is an emblematic animal of the Wild West, symbol of plentiness and endurance, it is also known to fulfill wishes. 

This pendant is made with the Overlay technique. This process (originally made by Hopi people) includes a background soldered to another like-sized piece with a cutout design. The silver background is then oxidized and scratched to bring out contrast between the two pieces.

(1 inch 3/8 x 0.3/4 inch)
