Navajo pendant featuring inlaid Kingman turquoise (Arizona) set in sterling silver.

This teardrop-shaped pendant is a fine example of the “channel inlay” process: This is an inlay technique in which hand-cut stones are compartmentalized by small silver bars to create a geometric pattern. The whole is polished to a smooth, elegant finish.

The inlay work is a Zuni jewelry technique, but here created by a Navajo artist.
