A sublime Navajo pendant with an oval design, inlaid with Sonoran (Arizona) turquoise and sterling silver.
 

The inlay is a composition of real stones (most often turquoise, coral and jet) assembled to compose a geometric or figurative pattern. This pendant offers a nice example of "channel inlay", a marquetry work where the turquoise is compartmentalized by thin silver bars.
