Navajo pendant made of a New Lander variscite (Nevada) stone set in sterling silver.

This pendant is representative of Navajo jewelry : the variscite is set in a smooth, uncluttered setting, simply surrounded by a thin cord, reminiscent of a lasso. For the Native Americans, the stone must be tamed like a wild animal.
