Rainbow Dancer pendant made in Zuni inlay of turquoise, coral, black-jet and mother-of-pearl. 

Setting in Sterling Silver. 

Rainbow Dancer is a Zuni divinity that is represented with a long body, banded on his side, reminding the shape of a rainbow. He represents the beautiful colors of the heaven and of the summer rain, which is a very positive element as it means good crops.

The handmade Zuni inlay is a gathering of different stones (most often turquoise, coral, mother-of-pearl, black jet), carved and put together in order to create a thin geometrical pattern. The piece is then polished in order to give a smooth and elegant finish to the jewel.
