This ring is representative of traditional Navajo silversmithing: the turquoise is in a setting hand-chased of fine lines and surrounded by a thin silver cord, reminiscent of a lasso. This element is typical of Navajo jewelry: Navajo silversmiths believe in taming the stone like a wild animal.
