Sterling silver Navajo ring set with a Sleeping Beauty turquoise (Arizona) cabochon.

This wide ring beautifully covers the phalanx. The turquoise is mounted in a smooth setting surrounded by a fine silver cord. This is representative of Native jewelry: it is said that the stone must be tamed like a wild animal. The artist has chiselled and oxidized fine rays all around the turquoise to create a lovely contrast.
