One of a Kind piece

Rectangular Navajo ring made of a beautiful cobble inlay of Kingman turquoises (Arizona), lapis lazuli, coral and silver on a sterling silver shank.

Inlay is a Native jewelry process, developed by the Zuni tribe, but in the case of this ring it is nicely handcrafted by a Navajo artist: turquoises of various shades are combined with the midnight blue of lapis and the luminous red of coral, cut and assembled by hand to create a geometric pattern.

The inlay technique used here is called “Cobble Inlay”.
“Cobble” is the perfect name for this exceptional work, which is as elegant as it is massive and although contemporary, it imitates the ancestral technique of mosaic.
