One of a Kind piece

Stunning (slightly adjustable) Navajo ring featuring a rectangular inlay of Sleeping Beauty turquoise (Arizona), black-pen shell and silver.

Inlay is a Zuni jewelry technique, but here it's masterfully executed by a Navajo artist in his own unique style, depicting a rug pattern. Turquoise and black-pen shell are cut and assembled by hand to create a geometric pattern. The whole is polished to a smooth, elegant finish.

This exceptional ring is all the more noteworthy for representing two Native American marquetry techniques:

- plain inlay (part in turquoise)

- channel inlay" (black-pen shell pattern compartmentalized by silver bars)
