One of a Kind piece
Beautiful Navajo ring in sterling silver inlaid with Kingman turquoise (Arizona).
This ring is representative of two Native American jewelry techniques:
Ingot work is an ancestral Navajo jewelry technique. The artist creates his own silver ingot by melting several pieces of sterling silver. Once solidified, the ingot is a block of material that can be cut and used to create different jewels.
In this case, the artist created a thick ring on which the roughness of the ingot work can be seen inside the ring. It is a time-consuming technique for a unique look.
The artist didn't stop there, as he created a turquoise inlay that he interwove into the thickness of the silver. He cut and polished raw turquoise into small squares and rectangles that fit perfectly into the silver base. The inlay on this ring is plain, meaning there is no silver bar between the stones to bind them together. This is specific, extremely precise work, giving this ring an unparalleled signature-look.
In short, you are looking at a gorgeous ring, just waiting for your finger.
