Beautiful Zuni ring featuring a double inlay of Kingman turquoise (Arizona) and sterling silver.

Inlay is a Zuni jewelry process, using genuine stones (most often turquoise, coral, mother-of-pearl and jet), hand-cut and assembled to create a geometric pattern. The whole is polished to a smooth, elegant finish. 

This ring is a fine example of “channel inlay”, an inlay technique in which the stones are compartmentalized by thin silver bars.

The artist has created two levels of inlay, giving this ring a unique style and cachet! To complete the jewel, Kokopelli is engraved on each side of the setting: 

Kokopelli is a positive deity worshipped by the Natives who possesses the wisdom of age. A symbol of fertility, joy, celebration and long life. He is also a minstrel, a musical spirit, a storyteller, a rainmaker, a healer, a teacher, a prankster magician and a seducer.
