Sterling silver Navajo ring.
 

This ring represents the profile of a buffalo. The buffalo is an emblematic animal of the Wild West, symbol of plentiness and endurance, it is also known to fulfill wishes. 

This ring is made with the Overlay technique. This process (originally made by Hopi people) includes a background soldered to another like-sized piece with a cutout design. The silver background is then oxidized and scratched to bring out contrast between the two pieces.
